Support YanaCocha: A Wildlife Haven

Our journey begins at YanaCocha, a sanctuary for flora and fauna victims of illegal trafficking; confiscated by the environmental authorities. The organization works tirelessly to rescue and rehabilitate animals found in markets, squares, and homes where they are kept illegally. Your visit directly supports their work, making this one of the most meaningful Baños tours you can embark on.

Marvel at the Majestic Waterfalls

Next, we head to the breathtaking Pailón del Diablo Waterfall. Located on the edge of the Amazon jungle, this 80-meter high marvel sends up swirling columns of mist, showcasing the untamed beauty of Ecuador. But the waterfalls don’t stop there. We also visit the Manto de la novia waterfall, where its crystal-clear waters harmoniously blend with the surrounding nature.

As our alternative Baños Waterfall tour concludes, we will drop you off at your hotel in Baños. After a day filled with incredible sights and impactful actions, you’ll be ready to relax and reflect on the transformative power of impactful travel.

A red howler monkey in the Yanacocha Animal Rescue Center in Puyo, Ecuador. | Impactful Travel

Yanacocha Rescue Center

As part of our commitment to sustainable tourism, we at Impactful Travel are proud to introduce the Yana Cocha Animal Rescue Center as a key destination on our tour. Nestled amidst verdant vegetation just five minutes from the city of Puyo, YanaCocha is a sanctuary for over 40 species from the Amazon.

These animals, voluntarily handed over or seized by the Ministry of Environment or the National Police, find refuge here from the destructive forces of illegal trafficking. They inhabit cages, pens, islands, and lagoons designed in compliance with the environmental standards set by the Ecuadorian Ministry of Environment.

But YanaCocha is more than just a rescue center. It’s an immersive experience where you can walk along ecological trails of ballast, sawdust, and palisades, observing these incredible creatures in their safe haven. Expect to spend at least an hour immersed in the raw beauty of nature, but trust us – the time will fly by as you marvel at the diversity of life in the Amazon.

By visiting YanaCocha on our alternative Baños Waterfall tour, you’re not just witnessing the resilience of nature – you’re actively supporting it. Every visit helps fund their tireless efforts towards wildlife conservation, making your journey from Tena to Baños a truly impactful one. So come, join us and become a part of this transformative experience.
