Also, you will be introduced to local small entrepreneurs and interact with them to learn how to prepare your Ceviche and a Pisco Chilcano.
You can choose the start time during the booking process. As this is a Vegan Peruvian Food Tour, emissions caused for your food production are as low as possible. Of course, food waste can be an issue during this tour, as visitors don’t always manage to eat up. Therefore, the guide constantly observes the amount of food that people eat or don’t eat to adapt the size of the portions and reduce food waste to the absolute minimum. Plastic and other waste are also reduced where possible.
Around 8 different small restaurants are visited during this tour, which generates a great additional income for all of them. In addition to that, part of your money will go to the Impact Eat Foundation established in Canada in 2020, supporting small producers in Peru thanks to sustainable agritourism activity. In this tour, you will also visit a shop in Lima created that offers products from 40 different small Peruvian producers. One of these producers was able to open his own small Coffee Bar, thanks (partially) to the income generated by the shop.
Emilie is Canadian and lives in Quebec. She has a BA in International Studies and Languages. After having traveled the world, she decided to specialize in community and solidarity tourism. It is during an international cooperation trip she did in 2013 that she fell in love with Peru.
She has lived for several years in Lima where she developed a friendship with Jessy Caiado, another ex-pat, and together they embarked on that great adventure that is Exquisito Peru. Their mission is to make you discover how incredible Peruvian gastronomy is through authentic culinary experiences.
To reinforce their social commitment, they established the Impact Eat Foundation in Canada in 2020, to support small producers in Peru thanks to sustainable agrotourism activity.

If they’re not going to directly participate, or if you prefer to share your food with your little one, there is no need to purchase an extra ticket. However, still let us know if you’re going to bring a child under 3, so our guide knows and will be prepared for it. But if you prefer them to have their own food, please select the next age category so they can be included in the price.
Children between 3 and 11 pay a reduced rate.
For children of 12 years and older, the rate is the same as for adults.
Yes, it’s possible! However, please note that you will need to reach out to us via the enquiry form of this tour and pay for a private food tour. The times shown on our website are small-group shared tours.
With our tour, extremely unlikely. All the stops are carefully vetted by our team and we run regular checks to make sure they maintain the same standards, both in terms of quality of the food as well as hygiene. Food poisoning is of course something that shouldn’t be ignored in Peru, so we always recommend to eat or drink at places that were recommended by at least one local person, combined with positive online reviews.
Among the different drinks included in this experience, you will enjoy local fruit juices (such as Lucuma), a cup of Peruvian coffee, Chicha Morada (made with the iconic purple corn), and Pisco-based drinks (which can be changed for non-alcoholic options).
