You’ll start your day with a hearty breakfast before boarding private transportation to Pavona. Here, you will meet your guide, who will accompany you on a boat ride to your accommodation in the tranquil community of San Francisco de Tortuguero. Nestled on the slopes of the ancient, dormant Tortuguero Volcano, this peaceful village offers an authentic and welcoming experience, rich in cultural traditions and warm hospitality.

After breakfast, you’ll continue your journey toward the stunning beaches of Guanacaste, a region known for its breathtaking coastline. Along the way, we’ll stop at Guaitil, a small village near Santa Cruz, famous for its rich cultural heritage. Here, you’ll meet Vladimir and his family, who will guide you through an authentic hands-on pottery experience. You’ll start by mixing clay with your feet, just as the Chorotega people have done for centuries, and then create your own clay piece using traditional methods. This unique activity preserves pre-Columbian craftsmanship, with natural pigments used to decorate the pottery.
Once your pottery is complete, you’ll help prepare your own lunch by making Tayuya, a traditional Guanacaste tortilla filled with delicious ingredients like beans and cheese.
After the cultural immersion in Guaitil, you’ll continue the journey, heading to Playa Sámara, just an hour away. This beautiful beach is the perfect spot to unwind, swim, or soak in the sun as you enjoy the peaceful surroundings of Guanacaste’s Pacific coast.
