Commitment to the Protection of Children and Adolescents in Tourism

We are firmly committed to conducting our activities in accordance with the highest legal, ethical, and moral standards. As part of this commitment, we adopt and promote the principles and duties established in the Code of Conduct against the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents in the tourism sector.
This Code guides our actions, reinforces our zero-tolerance policy, and reflects our responsibility to protect the rights, dignity, and well-being of children and adolescents.

Principles 

  1. Best Interests of the Child and Adolescent
    Children and adolescents are full holders of rights. Their best interests must always take precedence over any other consideration. Society, the State, and tourism service providers share the responsibility to respect, protect, and guarantee their fundamental human rights.
  2. Children and Adolescents as Rights Holders
    Children and adolescents are complete human beings with inherent dignity, capabilities, and potential. They possess civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights simply by virtue of their existence and must never be treated as incapable or inferior.
  3. Sustainable Tourism Development
    Tourism must contribute positively to the quality of life of local communities and promote social, cultural, and economic development under conditions of equality. Sustainable tourism requires respect for the environment, cultural heritage, and human rights—especially the rights of children and adolescents—fostering respectful and equitable interactions between visitors and host communities.

Duties 
As tourism service providers we commit to:

  • Maintaining a clear ethical policy of zero tolerance toward all forms of sexual exploitation of children and adolescents.
  • Never promoting, facilitating, or allowing sexual exploitation of children and adolescents within establishments or services.
  • Preventing the entry of children and adolescents into accommodation rooms without their parents, legal guardians, or duly authorized responsible adults, in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Immediately reporting to the competent authorities any suspected or confirmed case of sexual exploitation or other criminal acts involving children or adolescents.
  • Informing and training all staff members on company policies and procedures for the prevention of sexual exploitation in tourism.
  • Refraining from including, directly or indirectly, any content linked to sexual exploitation in tourism promotions, programs, or travel plans.
  • Displaying official prevention and awareness materials in visible areas of their establishments.

Through this Code of Conduct, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to legality, ethics, and moral responsibility. We recognize that protecting children and adolescents is not only a legal obligation but a shared duty that defines responsible and sustainable tourism. Our actions reflect our conviction that tourism must always be a force for dignity, respect, and human development.

 

Estamos firmemente comprometidos a desarrollar nuestras actividades conforme a los más altos estándares legales, éticos y morales. Como parte de este compromiso, adoptamos y promovemos los principios y deberes establecidos en el Código de Conducta contra la Explotación Sexual de Niñas, Niños y Adolescentes (ESNNA) en el ámbito del turismo.
Este Código orienta nuestras acciones, refuerza nuestra política de tolerancia cero y refleja nuestra responsabilidad de proteger los derechos, la dignidad y el bienestar de niñas, niños y adolescentes.

Principios

  1. Interés Superior de la Niñez y Adolescencia
    Las niñas, niños y adolescentes son sujetos plenos de derechos. Su interés superior debe prevalecer sobre cualquier otro interés o consideración. La sociedad, el Estado y los prestadores de servicios turísticos comparten la responsabilidad de respetar, proteger y garantizar sus derechos humanos fundamentales.
  2. Niñas, Niños y Adolescentes como Sujetos de Derechos
    Las niñas, niños y adolescentes son seres humanos completos, con dignidad, capacidades y potencialidades propias. Son titulares de derechos civiles, políticos, económicos, sociales y culturales por el solo hecho de existir y no deben ser considerados incapaces ni inferiores.
  3. Desarrollo Sostenible del Turismo
    La actividad turística debe contribuir a mejorar la calidad de vida de las poblaciones locales y promover su desarrollo social, cultural y económico en condiciones de igualdad. El turismo sostenible exige respeto por el medio ambiente, la cultura y los derechos humanos, especialmente los de niñas, niños y adolescentes, fomentando relaciones basadas en el respeto y la equidad.

Deberes

Como prestadores de servicios turísticos nos comprometemos a:

  • Mantener una política ética clara de tolerancia cero frente a toda forma de explotación sexual de niñas, niños y adolescentes.
  • No promover, facilitar ni permitir la explotación sexual de niñas, niños y adolescentes en establecimientos o servicios.
  • Evitar el ingreso de niñas, niños y adolescentes a habitaciones o unidades de hospedaje sin la compañía de sus padres, tutores o responsables legalmente acreditados, conforme a la normativa vigente.
  • Denunciar de inmediato ante la autoridad competente cualquier hecho vinculado a la ESNNA u otro delito del que se tenga conocimiento.
  • Informar y capacitar permanentemente a nuestro personal sobre las políticas de prevención de la ESNNA en el ámbito del turismo.
  • Abstenernos de incluir, de manera expresa o encubierta, situaciones relacionadas con la ESNNA en programas de promoción turística o planes de viaje.
  • Colocar material oficial de prevención y sensibilización en lugares visibles de nuestro sitio web.

Mediante este Código de Conducta, reafirmamos nuestro firme compromiso con la legalidad, la ética y la responsabilidad moral. Reconocemos que la protección de niñas, niños y adolescentes no es solo una obligación legal, sino un deber compartido que define un turismo responsable y sostenible. Nuestras acciones reflejan la convicción de que el turismo debe ser siempre una fuerza de dignidad, respeto y desarrollo humano.
